As you know the 2010 Olympic Winter Games are coming to Vancouver this week and the UBC Girlz Bhangra Team is getting ready to showcase Bhangra to the world.

Feb 12th and Feb 28th The Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the 2010 Olympic Winter Games:

Although not performing Bhangra, some members of the team have been selected to perform as cast of the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the games infront of 60,000 live audience members and an estimated 2.5 billion viewers world wide!

Feb 14th BC Victory Day Ceremonies:

Each night of the Olympic Games, there will be medal ceremonies, where each province of Canada gets 3O mins to showcase their top talent to a world wide audience. The UBC Girlz Bhangra team has been selected to be a part of this talent and will be putting Bhangra on possibly the largest stage this art has been on...the world! South Asian Arts, Footedge Dance, Shaane-Punjab Little Stars and Elite Dholis will also be storming the stage that night! Don't forget to tune in on Feb.14th to the BC Victory Ceremonies as we open for Nelly Furtado!

Feb 13th Ceremonies Live Site in Yaletown:

If you are visiting Vancouver, don't forget to stop by the Yaletown Live Site as the UBC Girlz Bhangra team performs at Bollywood Olympics (bollyomypics!) presented by South Asian Arts, show starts at 5pm and it's free so bring all your family and friends!

Feb 27th Quantam Bhangra-night before the closing ceremonies:

What better way to end the Olympic Celebration than with Bhangra?!!! The Vancouver Olympic Organizing Committee along with VIBC present Quantam Bhangra at Queen Elizabeth Theatre where the UBC Girlz Bhangra Team throws down a celebration with acclaimed artists: Harbhajan Mann, En Karma, DCS's Shin, Ustad Lal Singh Bhatti and others! Tickets are apparently going fast so get yours now!
