Just when you think the recipe you’re following is a disaster, just add a little spice, or in this case Feist! It’s been a busy week since my move four weeks ago from Vancouver to Toronto. After a long day at the office on Thursday, I packed up my goods along with a Rubbermaid full of items for a campaign which was to execute the next morning, I was subway bound. Exhausted and dragging my feet I cross two streets and to my mouth dropping surprise, right in the middle of downtown Toronto on Yonge an Bloor, a stage was erect along with all the necessary equipment to make this a spectacle; lights, cameras, red carpets and designer clothing. Holt Renfrew was celebrating their annual unveiling of their store front windows, but all eyes were on Feist. She performed to celebrate the Holiday season along with Holt Renfrew and Torontonians. The lucky few passing by, like myself, had a chance to enjoy the few songs she sang so well. This was not an advertised concert and therefore simply one of the best walks to the subway I’ve ever had. After she blew us away with her humble self and walked off the stage, the crowd did what any music loving crowd would do, chant “Encore, Encore!”. Feist, who was probably bagged from landing a few hours ago from LA and preparing to head to France just hours to come, came back on stage and said “Thanks guys!” Now you know you’re Canadian when you thank your fans for asking you to sing another song. Stay polite and grounded Feist, you rock!
