Oot and Aboot: Quick travel with lasting love

I always wondered why one airline is so obviously superior to another. You figure if there is enough money to create a business out of the fleet of aircrafts you own, whether it’s private or public, than you have enough money to give the people who choose to travel with you the best of the best… or shall I say la crème de la crème (since I’m typing in the lounge on route to Montreal).

Porter Airlines has definitely picked it up. First and foremost everyone travelling porter is dressed as if they are travelling business class; meanwhile there is no separation between classes on Porter.

Oot and Aboot: Keep on Shining!

Making the move to Toronto a couple of months ago, I had read my oath to solemnly swear that I will take the winters for what it’s worth; complain when it rains, only say “I’m cold” when the temperature reaches below -10 degrees Celsius, say “I prefer snow over rain” and save my long johns for the days with wind chill.

Luckily enough for me it is now December and this is the first since 1937 that there has yet to be a snowfall throughout the entire month of November and, so far, not much for December either in the Greater Toronto Area.

Moving on up [scratch that]... down to the west side!

Slowly but surely, I’m beginning to understand the city of Toronto a little more as each day passes.

After my first month living uptown in a beautiful brown stone building in an area most refer to as “Young and Eligible” … I failed to see both and soon put my peace sign up and packed my bags. I have gravitated towards an area that I hold near and dear to my heart, Queen St. W. My days in the past of frequenting the Drake Hotel are soon to be rekindled now that I’m just steps away. Sitting here in an authentic conversion loft staring at the hard wood floors, cement walls and ceiling, looking out the window at the brick buildings and boutiques, I finally feel like I may be getting comfortable.

Oot and Aboot: Add Feist to your Life

Just when you think the recipe you’re following is a disaster, just add a little spice, or in this case Feist! It’s been a busy week since my move four weeks ago from Vancouver to Toronto. After a long day at the office on Thursday, I packed up my goods along with a Rubbermaid full of items for a campaign which was to execute the next morning, I was subway bound. Exhausted and dragging my feet I cross two streets and to my mouth dropping surprise, right in the middle of downtown Toronto on Yonge an Bloor, a stage was erect along with all the necessary equipment to make this a spectacle; lights, cameras, red carpets and designer clothing.
