We may not be the first to condone sari swagger in the club. Hell, we may even take your picture (if you're wearing anything that belongs in an Indian wedding party) and post it in some fashion don't blog, black out your eyes and kindly ask that you refrain from crossing the lines between a club and a wedding reception. That being said, there is one exception - a fashion show by Davi Bains-Gill. She's a brilliant visionary designer who is a real designer with a sketch pad in one hand and a measuring tape in the other. You won't find un-original mass produced suits and saris in her boutique, but you will find a sweetheart designer who lives for making every bride's dream dress come to life.
Sugar Tuesday had the opportunity to take a sneak peek at designer Davi's Spring/Summer '10 line for Armaan Boutique at Pop Opera night club. In true Indian fashion, the models strutted their stuff on the catwalk about an hour later than announced. Luckily, Canada's Best Dance Crew was on hand to pop, lock and drop it to remixed Bollywood beats.
We had a moment to catch the busy designer back stage to find out what her new line is all about, her inspirations, the bollywood touch and what lies in the future.
Take a look at the compiled footage from that evening.
